Keeping nutrition and lifestyle advice simple and achievable.

About Peel Dietetics
Hello! My name is Amy Williams, and I have been working as an Accredited Practising Dietitian in the Perth Metro and Peel Regions for over 20 years.
I have recently decided to take the leap and begin my own private practice - Peel Dietetics. My professional philosophy is to keep nutrition and lifestyle advice simple and achievable.
People’s lives are busier than ever, and with the overwhelming amount of nutrition-related information (and misinformation!) surrounding us, I provide my clients with the simple facts along with practical steps that can be taken toward achieving their health goals.
I absolutely LOVE food, and I believe everyone can share this joy regardless of their health concern. I pride myself in offering a first-class nutrition service, taking the time to care, listen, support, coach, motivate and fine-tune.

Weight Concerns
I reject the ‘one size fits all’ approach when it comes to weight management, and I pride myself in taking the time to hear my clients in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Years of dieting can make you feel stuck in a vicious cycle of restricted eating and deprivation, sugar cravings and loss of control followed by guilt, shame and self-hatred. Research has proven that fad diets do not work, often leading to further weight gain and unhelpful eating behaviours and food beliefs. I help my clients to get off the dieting merry-go-round by getting back to basics, feeding the body with foods that nourish and satisfy both the physical and sensory needs. We explore what it means to eat mindfully, learning to find joy and flexibility in eating once again.

Chronic Conditions
Chronic health conditions need not control your life. I can help by giving you a greater understanding of your condition and how it relates to nutrition and lifestyle factors, explaining blood test results, and giving you the confidence to effectively manage your health and take back control. I have years of experience using an evidence-based approach to the management of chronic health conditions including:
-
Diabetes & Insulin Resistance
-
Cardiovascular Disease
-
Hypertension
-
Metabolic Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD; previously non-alcoholic fatty liver disease)
-
Osteoporosis

Digestive Health
The symptoms of poor gut health can range from the slightly uncomfortable to outright debilitating, significantly impacting an individual’s quality of life. Research has shown that a healthy gut is not only important for efficient digestion, but also immunity, mental health and more! I use a scientific, evidence-based approach to managing a range of digestive health issues including:
-
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
-
Constipation
-
Diverticular Disease
-
Crohns & Colitis
-
Coeliac Disease
-
Lactose Intolerance

Bariatric Surgery
Making the decision to undergo a bariatric procedure such as sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass or stomach intestinal pylorus-sparing surgery (SIPS) should not be taken lightly and requires a team approach to ensure physiological, psychological and nutritional well-being.
I have undertaken further training and have more than 10 years’ experience working in Bariatrics. I provide thorough, evidence-based nutrition counselling and support to ensure my clients remain healthy and maintain their weight loss well into the future.

Nutrition Support
Unintentional weight loss and malnutrition requires nutrition support only a qualified dietitian can provide. There are many reasons why an individual may need nutrition support, including:
-
Undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment
-
Dementia
-
Dysphagia (swallowing difficulty)
-
Fussy eating
-
Disordered eating
-
ADHD & Autism

Women's Health
Women’s health needs are unique and often complex. I can help women navigate nutrition information and provide advice and support based on the latest evidence and current guidelines, as well as my own lived experience, for a range of health issues including:
-
Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome
-
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
-
Perimenopause & Menopause
-
Gestational Diabetes
How I Can Help

Hear What Our Clients Say
“Working with Amy pre and post my gastric sleeve surgery, I felt so well supported. I had been a yoyo dieter for more than 40 years and was overwhelmed post operatively with what or what not to eat, how much to eat, and with counting protein and other macros. I felt like I would fail (like I had with every other attempt at getting weight off or keeping it off) and miss my opportunity to lose the weight I needed to. Amy was so gently encouraging and supportive and the food plans were easy to use and follow. When I ran into a problem on a Saturday and I texted Amy to book some time to talk on the Monday, she phoned me straight away on her day off to talk through the problem and put a plan in place. I highly recommend having Amy as part of your bariatric surgery team.”

“Having a need to lose weight I sought the assistance of Dietitian, Amy Williams, to recommend steps I could take to achieve a plan of losing, initially, 20 kgs of it. She took me through what a balance food intake was and that enabled me to identify the poor choices I had been making in my routine food intake diet. This was the beginning of a new and successful food regime for me.
I am losing the weight at the rate I feel is maintainable. I am quite confident of reaching my long-term goal. I can eat at restaurants and enjoy their food. It is all part of a balance of intake of food.”
- Roger
“The nutrition and lifestyle information I have received has been very helpful in making me aware and accountable for my new healthy eating habits. I am now consciously making better food choices and I have developed lifestyle changes which will benefit me for the rest of my life. A big thankyou to Amy & the staff, you are all amazing”
